Stop messing around and get to work! Many people are burdened with the fear of failure and hampered by the shackled by the trait of procrastination. I struggle many times to shake off these two hindrances of progress. One of my co-workers said, “The one thing that is sure to fails is a failure to try,” or something like that.
If we come to realize that we are responsible for our own failure, then we may also become aware of the fact that we are also responsible for our success as well. Why should we let the premise of the shame of failure stop us from trying. Freezing with fear oftentimes leads to death. Inactivity does little else than harm when it comes to getting things done.
There are two times when it is appropriate to be inactive in our lives. The first is when we are waiting on instructions from someone who knows what we should be doing. The second is when what we are doing is absolutely wrong.
If a person is at an impasse in direction, then it is wise to seek the direction of someone who can help you move to the next course of action. Even then, inactivity is action to move forward in the process. While you wait, you are planning to continue toward your goal.
The other situation, when you are doing something absolutely wrong, is better to be resolved in an expeditious fashion. Stop what you are doing and move quickly to what is right. The longer you stay in the wrong, the more difficult it is to extricate yourself from it, and it usually does more harm than good.
You are the person that is in charge of your decisions. The position of CEO of your life is occupied by you, so make an executive decision. Even if the majority opinion is opposed to yours, but the preponderance of evidence is in your favor, stick with what is right. It is better to stand alone in right than to stand with the majority in wrong.
