Engage: A Room With A View

Where would I want to be if I could teleport to anywhere in the world? There is no one place in this world that I would like to be more than on the continent of Africa. If I could stand safely on the plains of the Serengeti, I’d love to be there.

I’m surrounded by the lush grasses of the fields. The sounds of the menagerie of animals permeate the air. Antelope, zebra, wildebeest, elephants, rhinos are all there. Even the lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and wild dogs are present. But there is no fear or trepidation in the air, only the keen sense of awareness of the presence of predators and prey. As wild as the place may be, nothing is out of order. Those who eat only grasses are well provided for by the one who made them. While it seems cruel, the weak and sickly are weeded out by the carnivores that occupy the land.

As a breeze blows across the plane, the grasses dance a jig. The vastness of the grazing occupants tramples some of them, but nothing can take away their life. As the tops get severed from the roots, the newness of growth begins as the roots reach down to the life giving waters of the ground in which they reside. The sturdier ones are hiding places for searching eyes that are looking for their next meal.

There is plenty going on in my world that is fraught with danger, but there is nothing for me to fear. I can just think my way to safety if a stampeding herd threatens to overrun my position or if a predator mistakes me for an easy meal. However, I won’t go far away. I’ll just move to another place where I can continue to view the play of life in this land of the wild and natural that is far from the world of two legged beasts that is much more cruel and dangerous and less appealing to me.
